The Lambswool Cashmere combines two of the softest and most beautiful natural fibres to create a delicate and silky-smooth blanket. At 215 gsm it is one of the lightest blankets in the range, making it perfect for use in the summer months as well as providing an extra layer of warmth and luxury in winter. Finished lovingly by hand, the Lambswool Cashmere is bound on all four edges with colour coordinated satin binding for that traditional finishing touch.
Each blanket is woven from 85% pure lambswool and 15% cashmere. Lambswool is taken from the first shearing of the sheep and is beautifully fine and silky. The addition of cashmere, one of the softest and most opulent natural fibres in the world, combines with the beauty of lambswool to make this blanket truly luxurious. These two special fibres provide excellent insulation and warmth whilst being highly breathable and light.
John Atkinson has a long and impressive history of manufacturing England’s finest blankets. Our story began in Sowerby Bridge in 1828 when John Atkinson & Sons started weaving high quality wool blankets before the reign of Queen Victoria. The John Atkinson brand was later acquired by Wormalds & Walkers of Dewsbury, who also manufactured the historical Hudson’s Bay Point Blanket and in 1983 Hainsworth bought Wormalds & Walkers, moving production to the mill in Pudsey, West Yorkshire, where it remains today.
