Each and every blanket is lovingly bound, whipped, labelled and packaged by hand on receipt of order. Your patience enables us to ensure the highest of standards time after time.

John Atkinson blankets are manufactured at the historic Hainsworth Mill in West Yorkshire using skills passed down from generation to generation. Each blanket is woven and hand finished by our team of dedicated experts and craftsmen who proudly produce the finest blankets in England. We blend the wool, spin the yarn and weave each blanket entirely in-house on the widest looms in the UK, ensuring a truly beautiful finish and size that no other mill can match.
We carefully select only the best quality merino wool for our Lightweight Merino blankets. The unique structure of merino has many inherent properties that cannot be replicated by any other natural or manmade fibre. It is sustainable and biodegradable, as well as being highly durable, flame retardant, anti-static, hypoallergenic and temperature regulating. These inherent qualities make merino wool the natural choice for a good night’s sleep. In fact, sleeping in and under wool has been scientifically proven to improve sleep quality by up to 25%.
