Warmth and Style

The Twill and Granite throw is woven from 100% merino wool, one of the finest natural yarns available. The finer fibres of the Merino sheep, mainly found in Australia and New Zealand, are softer and less course than other types of wool, making for a luxuriously soft and comfortable throw. Available in classic white, warming cherry and elegant camel, the Twill and Granite adds texture and style to a room, whilst providing supreme warmth.

A Rich Heritage

John Atkinson has a long and impressive history of manufacturing England’s finest blankets and throws. Our story began in Sowerby Bridge in 1828 when John Atkinson & Sons started weaving high quality wool blankets before the reign of Queen Victoria. The John Atkinson brand was later acquired by Wormalds & Walkers of Dewsbury, who also manufactured the historical Hudson’s Bay Point Blanket and in 1983 Hainsworth bought Wormalds & Walkers, moving production to the mill in Pudsey, West Yorkshire, where it remains today.
